‘Five long years’: health groups push Ottawa to finalize 2021 draft rules on vaping flavours ban

Health Minister Marjorie Michel’s office told The Hill Times it 'remains committed to preventing vaping.' This includes enhancing public education, and strengthening compliance of enforcement and current rules. But it makes no mention of any plans to go ahead with a ban on most vape flavours, as proposed by the previous Liberal government in 2021.

With Canada having one of the highest youth vaping rates in the world, it’s time the federal Liberal government moves ahead with their predecessor’s plan to limit the number of flavours that make these products appealing to youth, say multiple health groups.
