Sloan’s ouster should have come earlier, say Conservative observers

Conservative Leader Erin O'Toole, pictured at left in December 2020, has barred controversial MP Derek Sloan, pictured at right in October 2020, from running under the party banner in the next election. Mr. Sloan was later booted out of caucus and now sits as an Independent.
The latest “outburst” involving Derek Sloan and his former Conservative Party likely came after the leader “read the riot act” to the now Independent MP, says one strategist, while another said that his ouster should have come sooner.
