AFN National Chief Bellegarde calls on feds to ‘immediately’ release 10 per cent of COVID-19 funding to communities
A portion of the $1-billion fund announced by the feds to scale up public health services will be directed to First Nations communities, in addition to other funding. AFN's Perry Bellegarde says that amount 'is not proportional to our population size, and it is not based on any dialogue with First Nations in coming up with that number.'

The Assembly of First Nations wants the federal government to “immediately” release about 10 per cent of all its future funding dedicated to its response to the COVID-19 pandemic “directly” to First Nations communities.
