Opposition MPs hopeful Liberal-majority committee will give ethics watchdog green light to testify on SNC-Lavalin affair

Opposition MPs are hopeful that Liberals on the House Ethics Committee will agree to have the ethics commissioner testify on his latest report, which found that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau broke the Conflict of Interest Act.
Then-ethics commissioner Mary Dawson appears before the House Ethics Committee in January 2018 to discuss her report detailing the prime minister's first ethics violation. Opposition MPs say they hope the new commissioner, Mario Dion, will also be called to testify when the Liberal-majority committee meets on Wednesday.
