Last chance to lobby MPs sees June numbers shrink, with influencers eyeing the campaign season

The Canadian Federation of Independent Business led in groups lobbying MPs as June’s 1,446 reported communications halved the total reported in May.
Agriculture Minister Marie-Claude Bibeau, Innovation Minister Navdeep Bains, and Transport Minister Marc Garneau were the top-lobbied ministers in June, mentioned in a dozen reports each.
The waning days of the House’s busy legislative calendar were coupled with an unsurprising dip in lobbying, but some were making the most of the last month with MPs in Ottawa before an extended break for the campaign ahead of an October election.
