Bills C-48, C-69 seen as ‘direct attack on Alberta and the energy sector,’ linked to rising alienation, say Conservative MPs

According to a 2019 Environics poll, the West’s resentment towards the rest of Canada is at an all-time high. Fifty-six per cent of Albertans expressed support for the statement: 'Western Canada gets so few benefits from being part of Canada that they might as well go it on their own,' while the same question in 2010 only garnered about half the support.
