Centre Block closure, renos delayed until after summer

Senators were told this morning that the Upper Chamber’s interim home at the Government Conference Centre won't be ready in time for the fall sitting this September. So they'll begin a phased move this fall, with the Senate Chamber staying put until after the end of the fall sitting in December. 
Centre Block's rotunda will be open to visitors this summer, as planned decade-long renovations expected to begin after Parliament rises this month will be delayed until January.
