Education biggest issue for AFN national chief and federal government

The future of First Nation youth is too precious for it to be sacrificed on the altar of internecine squabbling, political wrangling, and political games played by First Nation leaders and the federal government.

On Dec. 10, First Nation chiefs from across Canada will meet in assembly in Winnipeg to elect a new national chief. That person will have more than a plate full of matters that need attending and fixing, but he has no higher priority than addressing the education of First Nations young people.
