Canadians with diabetes to rise to 3.7 million by 2018
The near doubling of the rate of Type 2 diabetes since 2000 is strongly associated with an increased obesity rate, and disproportionately affects Canada’s more vulnerable citizens including aboriginal peoples, the elderly, and those of lower socio-economic status.
