While the CRA’s efforts to stem the activities of these malicious gifting tax shelter schemes are absolutely justified, its aggressive public awareness push to warn people away from such frauds may have the inadvertent and unfortunate impact of undermining the positive social impact of the very few legitimate donation gifting programs in existence.
