Senators could vote Fairbairn out of Upper Chamber, says Tkachuk

Senate Internal Economy Committee chair David Tkachuk says the committee has asked for a legal opinion about what to do in Liberal Senator Joyce Fairbairn’s ‘very unique situation.’ If Sen. Fairbairn, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and is currently on sick leave, does not return to the Senate for two sessions, the Senate could declare her seat vacant.
