Public Works says no major damage after earthquake, minor plaster cracks in Centre Block

Public Works sampled for asbestos particles in West Block, found minor plaster cracks within a few offices in the Centre Block and towers were unaffected.

The Public Works Department doubled air sampling for asbestos particles in the West Block for three days following the June 23 earthquake that shook Central Canada, Ottawa and the crumbling old buildings on Parliament Hill.
