Senate deals with “hangover” bills: Senator says time spent on bill shouldn’t be ruled by government’s timetable
The Senate is expected to push through two controversial bills to the final stages in the Chamber on Sept. 7 -- despite opposition to one of them by Tory senators -- so the House can prorogue this fall, introducing a Throne Speech in the beginning of October.
