Canada will get return on investment ‘multiple times over’ with $86-billion worth of GDP impact, says German sub maker

The feds have tied the submarine deal to its Industrial and Technological Benefits Policy, and the CEO of ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems says the baseline price of $24-billion for 12 vessels will come back to Canada more than three times over.
Prime Minister Mark Carney previously said the government expects to see 100 per cent of the value of Canada's investment in 12 submarines to be matched in the country.

The German submarine company picked as the country's preferred bidder says it can return Canada's $24-billion purchase "multiple times over" through investments over the years, as negotiations for a final contract between the federal government and the supplier continue.
