Feds propose $2-billion for mission training Ukrainian troops, appearing to expand operation

The spring fiscal update also proposed $103.8-million over five years for the implementation of a stand-alone Defence Investment Agency.
Defence Minister David McGuinty previously announced a three-year extension to Operation Unifier this past February.

After announcing an extension to Canada’s mission training Ukrainian soldiers earlier this year, the federal government is proposing a seemingly significant expansion of the operation with billions of dollars in new funding.
