A bill aimed at protecting women could actually cause women harm

Bill S-228, aimed at ending coerced sterilizations, raises concerns about unintended consequences on access to reproductive care in Canada
The Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada writes it is concerned about the chilling effect the bill could create on women’s access to reproductive care. If physicians fear criminal prosecution when providing—at some future point—result in sterilization, some may choose to stop offering this care altogether.
