Liberal MPs shrug off Trump’s latest tariff threat if Canada pursues trade agreement with China

In response to U.S. President Donald Trump's threats of tariffs if Canada goes through with a trade deal with China, Dominic LeBlanc, minister responsible for Canada-U.S. trade, said “there is no pursuit of a free trade deal with China,” and “what was achieved was resolution on several important tariff issues.”

PARLIAMENT HILL—Liberal MPs, gathering on Parliament Hill on a frigid Saturday ahead of the House’s return, largely shrugged off United States President Donald Trump’s latest spate of threats to Canada's economy.
