Canada has role to play in Ukraine peace talks as ‘moral conscience of the good guys,’ say observers

Amid a peace plan drafted by Russia and the U.S. which has been highly criticized for favouring Russia’s interests, Canada can push for an immediate ceasefire before negotiations continue, Independent Senator Stan Kutcher said.
Speaking to reporters on Nov. 26, Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand said she’d spoken with her Ukrainian counterpart earlier this morning, and said Canada supports Ukraine 'in the short and the long term, in whatever way we can.'

As a “highly respected middle power,” Canada has a key role to play in Ukraine peace talks, observers say, as Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand prepares to meet with her NATO counterparts in Brussels.
