Fentanyl tariff ruling doesn’t cast aside Trump’s ‘national emergency’ spotlight on border

Justices on the U.S. Court of Appeals argued that the national security considerations behind President Donald Trump's trafficking tariffs are not at issue. 
Public Safety Minister Gary Anandasangaree has introduced legislation in Bill C-2 to strengthen border security. The controversial bill is at second reading in the House.

Although a United States appeals court struck down President Donald Trump’s use of emergency tariffs, it did not counter the idea that the guiding rationale behind those levies—including ones targeting Canada—was a national security threat.
