Some Conservative Party members bristle at use of ‘abridgement’ rule in delegate selection process for convention

The delegate selection will start on Sept. 8 and will end on Nov. 30, and each EDA will choose their own date, time and location for these meetings, according to the rules for the Calgary biennial policy convention.
Each of the 343 ridings across the country can send up to 12 delegates to the Jan. 29-31, 2026, biennial policy convention in Calgary, Alta. These delegates will vote on the leadership of Pierre Poilievre, centre, and take part in policy debates.
