Senators praise PBO report to release ‘crucial’ public accounts earlier, but government reluctant to commit to changes

On Sept. 13, the Parliamentary Budget Office, led by Yves Giroux, released a report proposing an earlier timeline for the public accounts. 'Year after year, parliamentarians are asked to vote on appropriations when they don't know what really happened for the previous year,' said Giroux.
