Feds changed procurement strategies to favour McKinsey, says procurement watchdog

Procurement Ombud Alexander Jeglic's office reviewed 32 federal contracts awarded to McKinsey and Company, and found there was a lack of documentation 'to demonstrate that the tenets of fairness, openness, and transparency were considered and respected in the procurement process.'
The federal government coughed up a total of $117-million in contracts to consulting firm McKinsey and Company between 2011 and 2023, according to Office of the Procurement Ombud, headed by Alexander Jeglic.

The procurement watchdog has found that the federal government appeared to favour McKinsey by shifting its procurement strategies and methods, allowing the company to secure millions of dollars worth of contracts.
