Outgoing Nunavut Senator Patterson wants to stay close to mining sector in retirement
Dennis Patterson, a southerner, has been the sole Senator for the territory he helped create since 2009, and retires on Dec. 30.

The man who has represented Nunavut in the Senate for the past 14 years plans to return home when he retires at the end of this month: to Vancouver, B.C., where most of his family currently lives.
