With a boost of energy from the recent election of an NDP government in Manitoba, federal New Democrats will spend the weekend in Hamilton fiercely debating policy, the supply-and-confidence deal, and the party's own future heading into the next election.
Strategists and former staffers say NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh will need to make good use of the upcoming convention to unite the party's grassroots, and convince Canadians tired of the Liberal government that he can be a compassionate and competent alternative to the Conservatives.
