House Foreign Affairs Committee’s Ukraine travel wishes kiboshed due to safety concerns

Global Affairs and House of Commons security recommended against the Foreign Affairs Committee travelling to Ukraine as part of its current trip to Europe.
Liberal MP Ali Ehsassi, who chairs the House of Commons Committee on Foreign Affairs, brought a request to travel to Ukraine to the Liaison Committee, but the proposal was rejected.

The House Foreign Affairs Committee is currently travelling through Europe and while some committee members hoped the trip would include a stop in Ukraine, the idea was rejected on the advice of House security and Global Affairs Canada.
