Canada ‘respects and recognizes’ Guaidó ouster, opposition Venezuelan envoy begins closing mission

Canada had previously recognized Juan Guaidó as Venezuela's interim president since 2019.

After a Venezuelan National Assembly vote ousted Juan Guaidó, who Canada had recognized as the interim president, and dissolved his government in late December, the federal government says it “respects and recognizes” the assembly's decision.
