Quality of journalism should be considered in eligibility for Bill C-18, says NDP MP

The House Heritage Committee is considering the possible impacts of changing the eligibility requirements under Bill C-18 for news organizations to engage in revenue sharing deals with major online platforms.
Liberal MP Anthony Housefather questioned Meta representatives during a Heritage Committee meeting on Oct. 28, in regards to a threat by the platform to block sharing of news content in Canada if Bill C-18 is passed without amendments.
