Electric vehicle industry transition among top issues brought to innovation minister in first half of 2022

Canada's auto industry was engaging the federal government in the first six months of 2022 to discuss the opportunities and hurdles of electrification.

Innovation Minister François-Philippe Champagne announced an investment of $259-million towards GM Canada on April 4, intended to support an assembly plant in becoming the first full-scale commercial electric vehicle production facility in Canada.
