Time for mandatory cooperation between northern airlines and mainline airlines in Canada

Recently, the OECD spelled out the advantages of interlining and code-sharing arrangements between non-alliance airlines and the alliances.
Interlining makes multi-carrier journeys seamless: at a transit airport, passengers do not have to collect their luggage or to check in again, and their baggage will automatically follow through to their final destination, says the OECD.
There currently are three global airline alliances. Air Canada is a member of Star Alliance, WestJet likely will join the SkyTeam Alliance.
