A legislated review of legalized recreational cannabis in Canada is scheduled to start Oct. 17 and be completed within no more than 18 months.
Recreational cannabis has been legal in Canada since 2018, with edibles legal since 2019. According to a 2021 report from Statistics Canada, the number of Canadians 15 years of age and older who reported using cannabis in the last three months is up six percentage points from pre-legalization findings.
