Liberals’ climate bill has passed, now the hard work begins

Canadian governments must now set targets for greenhouse gas reductions, and release plans for meeting them. Those plans will have to restructure the economy, says an Alberta Senator.

The Liberal government has already promised billions in spending and a big increase to the national carbon price to help it reach that goal.
The last-minute passage of the federal government’s climate change targets bill last week has started a countdown for Canada’s government, which must produce a plan for what Alberta Senator Doug Black says will be a restructuring of the national economy.
