During COVID-19 global pandemic, MPs take to Facebook Live to connect with constituents

Many are turning to social media to stay connected with constituents, helping them make sense of the near-daily blitz of information coming from federal, provincial, and public health officials. Where in-person town halls were once the norm, Facebook Live has become the preferred mode of communication for MPs.
On April 14, all five Liberal Brampton-area MPs (Maninder Sidhu, Brampton East; Kamal Khera, Brampton West; Sonia Sidhu, Brampton South; Ramesh Sangha, Brampton Centre; Ruby Sahota, Brampton North) hosted an hour-long virtual town hall to answer coronavirus questions from constituents. The MPs were also joined by Dr. Lawrence Loh, Peel’s medical officer of health.
