'When you have a leader, such as the president, spouting misinformation and frankly hateful rhetoric around the refugee and immigrant community, it creates an atmosphere where people feel that it is okay to have those sentiments and to act on them,' NDP MP Jenny Kwan said about the president's rhetoric in wake of two more mass shootings.

In light of two mass shootings in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, last week that left a total of 31 dead, NDP MP Jenny Kwan says she thinks U.S. President Donald Trump’s “shameful” rhetoric is “emboldening people to feel that it is okay to discriminate.”
