Liberal Party says it will pay House for fundraising video, offer to reimburse donations, in letter to Speaker’s chief of staff

'Out of respect for full compliance with the House of Commons’ rules, we have determined it would be appropriate to reimburse the House of Commons for that brief use of the space,' writes Liberal Party national director Azam Ishmael in a letter obtained by The Hill Times.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau used his Centre Block office to appeal to supporters for campaign donations in a Facebook video in December. The NDP raised ethical concerns about the party's use of parliamentary resources for partisan gain. Now, the Liberals appear to be trying to make amends.
