Feds to begin negotiations with supercluster winners

The five industry groups will get down to brass tacks with Navdeep Bains' department over how much money they will get, how they can spend it, and what they need to report back to the government.
Innovation Minister Navdeep Bains announced last month the five private sector groups that would receive a total of $950-million of government money over five years to try to build economic 'clusters' in five regions of Canada. His department will be responsible for keeping tabs on how that money is spent and whether his promise that it will generate 50,000 jobs in the next decade is realized.
