Former prime minister Brian Mulroney told Policy magazine: 'The worst thing that the Canadians could have done or could do would be to respond to a tweet or a statement and get into a verbal fist fight with the Americans over something that is meaningless. My view was, and I’ve talked about it publicly, keep your mouth shut and your head down and prepare, prepare, prepare for the autumn negotiations.
