Indigenous ministry proposed ‘nuanced interpretation’ of Liberal election promise to enact UN rights treaty

The government will implement the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples through new laws and policies, not a word-for-word application of the international treaty, says the office of Indigenous Affairs Minister Carolyn Bennett.
