Canadian envoys lack security training: internal report
The report floats the idea of diplomats' spouses getting secret security clearance for safety reasons. It comes at a time when departmental spending is set to be reduced in part from mission security funding.
Canadian diplomats abroad need more security training, even in so-called safe countries, if they are to be better prepared for the kind of attack that gripped the United Kingdom last week, according to a newly released internal report from the foreign ministry.
