Liberals ask Parliament to approve $2.5-billion to finance government operations until April

Liberals are asking for immediate approval for $545-million to cover the costs of pending collective agreements with public service employees and $350-million to support the transfer of 19 federally-owned dams to the Saskatchewan government, among other allocations.
The Trudeau government is seeking more than $2-billion in new spending authority from Parliament to finance several initiatives before the end of the current fiscal year on March 31. Finance Minister Bill Morneau, pictured, will table the budget for the next fiscal year on March 22.
