‘We need to see some significant change,’ government to push substantive overhaul of House rules

During a daylong debate in the House, MPs proposed a number of ideas, staked claim on all sides of the Friday-sitting debate, and pushed for decreasing executive branch privileges.
On Oct. 6, the House spent most of the day debating Standing Orders, and throughout the debate, various positions on parliamentary reform and making the House more family friendly came forth. It then referred the discussion to the House Procedure and House Affairs Committee for further consideration.
