Justin Trudeau, party brass set to gain more power over campaigns, policy under new proposed Liberal constitution

The party’s current constitution, an 81-page book of bylaws, will be slimmed-down to only 17 pages in its proposed new form, which gives extended powers to Trudeau and top party executives.

The new Liberal constitution lists the party leader as the first title at the head of the list of the party’s executive, while the existing constitution only lists the leader as one of several “additional” voting members of the board, along with a representative from the caucus.
