Elderly care requires more RNs, say Ontario registered nurses
‘If you really want to make sure our elderly are appropriately assessed and we don’t end up with crises taking place, we need more RNs,’ says Linda Haslam-Stroud, president for the Ontario Nurses’ Association.
Training and workplace conditions need to be improved for the front-line workers in Canada’s nursing homes, to improve the quality of care for elderly patients, according to some who work in the field.
