House adjourns, but opposition MPs promise to pick up Duffy-Wright probe once Commons returns in January
MPs were preparing to recess early for the holidays and Parliament’s long winter recess, giving Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his government a seven-week reprieve from relentless grilling over a $90,000 payment to Senator Mike Duffy from former PMO chief of staff Nigel Wright and police allegations of potential bribery and fraud in the deal. The House is scheduled to adjourn on Dec. 13.
