IMF enters the climate change debate
It’s calling on nations to curb their subsidies to the oil, gas, and coal industries and to tax carbon, moves which it says would free up funds for cash-strapped governments to meet other societal needs while encouraging a shift to urgently-needed cuts in greenhouse gas emissions.
