Crawley wins Grit party presidency by nail-biting 26 votes, Liberals vote for a ‘thirst for renewal’
Liberals say they expect Mike Crawley, who was elected the new party president in a nail-bitingly close race and after three recounts on Sunday in Ottawa at the Liberal biennial convention, will help lead the party to become a truly grassroots, open, and inclusive one and will move it out of the top-down structure that sent it to its worst election result in Canadian political history in the last election.
