Quebec’s claim to 25% of House of Commons seats should be recognized, say experts

The government has to get the new seats law passed by Oct. 19, 2014 in order to be in place for election in Oct. 19, 2015. It's going to be tight.

Whatever formula the government comes up with to increase the number of seats in the House of Commons to accommodate the growing populations of Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia, Quebec's traditional claim to 25 per cent of the seats should be recognized, say two experts.
