Opinion: Harper says he supports Canada Health Act, but past evidence suggests otherwise

The controversy over a quote in the Liberal Party TV ad attacking Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s record on medicare misses the point. While it was incredibly sloppy of the Liberals to misquote Harper saying the Canada Health Act should be scrapped (his boss at the time, David Somerville of the National Citizens Coalition made the statement), what is relevant is that Harper has said virtually the same thing many times.
