Federal and provincial governments should also do a better job of recognizing the leadership and decision-making roles of aboriginal governments, who are necessary and knowledgeable partners.

World Water Day, March 22, serves to remind us that we can't take global water resources for granted. Indeed, most of the news about water these days is bad: scarcity, pollution, and conflict. However, progress being made on the preservation of Canada's boreal forest is one encouraging story.
