PSAC votes to take 5.3 per cent pay raise to give up severance payments
The agreement is the result of a Treasury Board initiative to engage in early bargaining for more than 90,000 of its workers whose contracts were set to expire next year.
The Public Service Alliance of Canada, a union representing 172,000 federal workers across Canada, voted 52 per cent in favour of taking a 5.3 per cent pay raise in exchange for giving up severance payments, Dec. 1.
