Big ideas not welcome in minority Parliament
In this environment, it is almost impossible to advance the long-term projects we need as a nation. No one will touch anything that involves legislative or constitutional change, considerable debate, resources or accommodation.
After 10 years of majority government under prime minister Jean Chrétien, it was a relief to some when Canadians elected a minority government.
